Coach Herkleman Discusses Match-up with Connors State

With a National Title just a few wins away, the Red Ravens continue there quest to the top tonight in Hutchinson. The Ravens waited patiently with a first round bye to face the winner of Connors State and Central Georgia Tech, and after the first round win the Red Ravens will face off against the 12 seeded Connors State College. Having sometime to watch the game between those two teams was Hall of Fame head coach Jay Herkleman. We sat down with coach and spoke about what he saw and what to expect out of the 12 seeded Connors State Cowboys. He say's the cowboys are a very talented 3 point shooting team, even with the high amount of 3 point shots they take on average. Connors State is going to force the Red Ravens to stick mainly with a man to man defense hoping to not leave too many open shots, knowing this Cowboys team can knock them down from anywhere. Coach Herkleman is proud of the ways the guys have been this past month, now winning 17 games in a row, but is concerned that they had to wait a full two weeks between games. It effected them in the first round of the Jayhawk conference tournament and coach expects a little of the same tonight. You can listen to their first game of their quest to the title tonight over on your home for Red Ravens Athletics 98.1 KUSN.
