Vic McLeran, 85 years of age, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away on July 15, 2026. He was born on August 2, 1940, to Ruth and Donald McLeran.

Throughout his life, Vic was a passionate outdoorsman, a talented falconer and an exceptional fisherman.

Vic grew up in Coffeyville, where he began his lifelong love of the waters and the woods of southeastern Kansas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, after which he returned to Kansas to study at Coffeyville Junior College (now Coffeyville Community College). Vic later transferred to and graduated from Pittsburg State University.

Vic was drawn to journalism. He focused on sports and outdoor writing and contributed to various publications. He worked many years for the Kansas Forestry, Fish and Game Commission (now the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks) as a writer, photographer and editor of their magazine.

Vic also loved to cook, specifically smoked meat. This passion for feeding friends and family led Vic to open several barbeque restaurants in Kansas, specializing in falling-off-the bone tender ribs.

Vic later worked at Phillips Petroleum (now ConocoPhillips) writing in the public affairs and marketing divisions. Vic had the opportunity to retire early, which allowed him more time for writing, reading, and fishing. He ultimately moved back to the Coffeyville area where he haunted the waters of Kansas and Oklahoma in search of big bass.

Though he came to faith later in life, Vic pursued a genuine understanding of Christianity and deepened his relationship with God year after year. He made peace with his past and spoke of looking forward to the next adventure in his life, an eternal home in heaven.

Vic had one child, his daughter, Kristen. They shared a close and loving relationship that lasted a lifetime.

Vic was preceded in death by his brother Doug (1938-1939), and his parents. He is survived by his sister, Dana Copeland, of Pineville, Missouri; his daughter, Kristen McLeran, his grandchildren Isobel McLeran Sturges and Oliver McLeran Sturges, of Walnut Creek, California.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 2455 Woodland Avenue, Coffeyville, Kansas, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Vic’s memory with a donation to a favorite environmental or conservation charity.

Vic found a great deal of joy outdoors. You are invited to walk along or fish in waters in your community: a nearby creek or a pond at the city park. You might keep your eyes peeled for red-tailed hawks perched high on a telephone pole in memory of Vic and his love of the natural world.

He has cast his final line into waters made still by the peace of the Lord.

Jerry “Bud” Lee Rider, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 83 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Stonehaven Assisted Living and Memory Care, where he had resided for the last couple of years.

Jerry was born to Tyner Lee and Geraldine Leuretta (McMullin) Rider in Mayes County, Oklahoma, at the family home in the rural Chelsea area. Jerry attended school in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School. 

Jerry met Cheryl Gale Garman through a mutual friend. After a brief courtship, they were married on August 1, 1964, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They made their home in Bartlesville for two years before relocating to Coffeyville, which made Jerry’s commute to work shorter. For 60 years, Coffeyville was home. Jerry and Cheryl shared many fond memories together, including raising their children, David and Melinda, and had just celebrated 58 years of marriage at the time of Cheryl’s passing on February 25, 2023.

Jerry was a hard worker and began his adult working career with Olin Dixon Industries. He later became an operator at COOP Refinery and retired in 2010 under the management of Farmland Industries, now known as CVR Energy. Jerry worked in the Crude Unit, as well with the Fire Brigade.  His family referred to his coworkers as the Crude Crew as his second family. Many lifelong friendships were cultivated during his time there. 

He was also a self-taught engineer in many different fields; he could design, build, and fix just about anything. He was very knowledgeable about auto A/C repair, which became a side job for him and later led to home A/C repair as well. He put all his design, mechanical, and construction skills to use helping his family, friends, and neighbors. He was always kind, willing to lend a helping hand, and would be the first to say, “I can help you with that.” His kind nature was comforting to all, including strangers who became acquaintances by the time he wished them farewell. 

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting, often taking his son, David, and daughter, Melinda “Mendy,” alongside him, making each trip even better. All who knew him knew that his family was the most important thing to him, and he always put their needs before his own. His love for his wife and children was unconditional and genuine.

When Jerry could no longer live alone at home, he moved to Tulsa to Stonehaven Assisted Living to be closer to his children. An added blessing was that he was at the same living center as his only brother, Dale, and the time they spent together was something they both enjoyed.

Jerry is survived by his son David Rider; daughter Mendy and Jason Coffey; grandchildren, Jonathan and Tina Coffey, Joey Coffey, and Madison Coffey; brother Dale Rider; brother and sister-in- laws, Alan and Nadine Solenberger, Norman and Carolyn Garman, Lonnie Garman and Connie Chapman.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cheryl and sister-in-law who was also Jerry’s classmate Shirley Rider. 

Memorial services celebrating Jerry’s life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 2pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, also at the chapel from 5-7pm.  In assisting the family with sever allergies please cards only or do a kind act of service in Jerry’s memory. Anthony Wayne Tolson Jr. age 44, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Anthony, affectionately known as Bubby, was a man of many admirable qualities. Born on September 16, 1981, in Pikeville, KY, Anthony was a beacon of generosity, loyalty, thoughtfulness, and love. His life was a testament to these values, and his actions spoke volumes about the kind of man he was. Anthony's heart was a wellspring of kindness and compassion, always ready to give and help those in need. His loyalty was unwavering, a trait that earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

In his earthly journey, Anthony found joy in simplicity. He relished the thrill of hunting, the serenity of fishing, and the satisfaction of working on trucks.  In recent years he was a skilled mechanic, taking pride in restoration and achieving the goals he set for himself.  In his younger years, as a semi-truck driver, he traversed many paths, from the lush landscapes of Kentucky to the sunny shores of Florida, and the bustling city life of Georgia. But it was in Coffeyville, Kansas, where Anthony found his home. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church Coffeyville, where he generously offered his time volunteering during Wednesday Night Alive. His faith was steadfast, reflecting the verse from Proverbs 28:20 "A faithful man will abound with blessings."

Anthony married his beloved wife, Holly, on July 27, 2019, and their union was blessed with one beautiful daughter, Remington. He was also blessed with a beautiful daughter, Sandi, from a previous marriage. His love for his family was fierce and unwavering, a testament to his loving nature. He is survived by his wife Holly, daughters Sandi and Remington, his mother Jamie Burnett (Jim), his father Anthony Sr., and sisters Sophia Tolson, Sarah Rostad (Donald), Evangelia Clark, and December Morris. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him dearly.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Anthony, we invite you to celebrate his life during the visitation and funeral service.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at David W. Barnes Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. to greet friends.  

Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville.  Pastor Dick Smith will officiate.  Burial will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.

Roger Casurole, 83, passed away at his home in Coffeyville, KS, August 1, 2026.

Roger was born in Cardale, PA, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Narchus) Casurole February 9, 1943. He grew up in Pennsylvania. Roger moved to Coffeyville to play football from 1961-1962 for the Red Ravens. Roger went back to Pennsylvania and worked for the Robena Coalmine. He later graduated from California State College in PA in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in science and education.

Roger married Becky Sue Hurst in 1963. From their marriage, they had two sons, Preston Casurole and Jason Casurole. Roger later married Patricia Lucas Casurole in 1980. From their marriage, Claire Casurole was born. The two later divorced.

Roger worked for the Coffeyville Coop Refinery, where he retired after 35 years. He was head of the safety department, and retired as the safety director.

After retirement, Roger didn’t sit still too long. He would travel all over for high school football games, created a website for high school athletes to view their sports stats. He was a coach to lots of youth sports, provided equipment to them, and many of the rules he implemented are still used! He was an EMT and a fire training teacher. He would drive the Red Cross van to the sports games. Roger would also drive and volunteer his time at the fair with the Red Cross. Roger also loved his music.. and he liked his music loud.

Roger loved to spend time with his family. He leaves behind his son, Preston (Carmen) Casurole, and daughter Claire (Mike) Casurole, grandchildren; Shea, Rain (Dillon), Macsen, and Griffin, and great-grandchildren; Saige and Soli, Brother Carl (Phyllis) Casurole, Sister Joann (Jim) Avoli, and sister-in-law, Josie Casurole. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth, son, Jason Casurole, and brother Eddie Casurole.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Funeral service will be at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Drew Dellasega officiating on Tuesday, August, 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. 

Floyd E. "Bud" McIntosh, Jr., aged 95, of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Medicalodges Coffeyville on Midland.

He was born on August 28, 1930, in Coffeyville, to Floyd E. and Mamie (Burdick) McIntosh, Sr. Bud grew up and attended school in Coffeyville.

Bud had a heart for service, dedicating his life to maintaining the buildings and grounds of U.S.D. #445 in Coffeyville for many years until his retirement. His strong work ethic was evident in his early years working in the Brick Yards of Coffeyville, the Kansas State Highway Department, and later at the flour mill. His service didn’t stop after retirement; he continued his maintenance work at Medicalodge. He was member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; Bud was proud of his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and attending Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Football games. Above all, Bud cherished his family and held them close to his heart.

Bud is survived by his children, Tim (Kim) McIntosh, Connie (Johnny) Wade, and Debbie (Roger) Yates; his brother, James McIntosh; nine grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and thirty great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd McIntosh, Sr. and Mamie McIntosh; his beloved wife, Donna McIntosh; his infant brother, Billy McIntosh; his sister, Margaret Kramer; one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at David W. Barnes Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Coffeyville First Assembly of God, with Pastor Randy DePriest officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery north of Coffeyville with Military Honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20.
