Sandra Sue Vanderhoof, age 75, of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Medicalodge in Independence, Kansas.
Sandra, or Sandy as she was more commonly known, was born on February 20, 1951, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Wayne and Theodosia (Grayson) Park. She was raised in Coffeyville, attending local schools and graduating from Field Kindley High School.
On September 5, 1970, Sandy married her sweetheart and best friend, Robert “Bob” Vanderhoof, someone she had known nearly all her life. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Amber, and together they built a home centered around family, love, and making the most of all life had to offer. Sandy and Bob devoted themselves to helping Amber experience life to its fullest. Whether participating in Special Olympics, traveling to Disneyland and Disney World, or celebrating each new milestone along the way, they navigated life side by side, cherishing the journey they shared together as a family.
Throughout her younger years, Sandy held several positions within the Coffeyville community, working at Gibson’s, Western Publishing, and Bank IV, where she served as a teller and proof auditor. In her later years, she found work she truly loved at Community Elementary School, serving as a para in the special education department. More recently, Sandy continued giving of her time by volunteering with the CRMC Auxiliary.
Sandy was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Coffeyville. She enjoyed traveling with her family and collecting dolls and knick-knacks, but among the things she treasured most were the moments spent surrounded by the family and friends who filled her life.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Vanderhoof; daughter, Amber Vanderhoof; sister, Brenda Kimmons; brother, Larry Park and wife, Stephanie; numerous nieces and nephews along with many extended relatives and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Theodosia and by her sister, Linda Bilby.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. to greet friends.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship in Coffeyville. Pastor Doug Mund will officiate.
