Sedan Faces Canton-Galva in 8-Man Quarterfinals

The Sedan Blue Devils are one step closer to the 8-Man DI finals, but the team now faces its toughest test yet in Friday's quarterfinals.

The Canton-Galva Eagles are 9-1 and hail from District 4, which also includes defending state champion Little River. The team is led by senior wide receiver and Kansas State commit Tyson Struber. He has recorded over 1100 receiving yards this season and holds career 8-Man records in both yards and touchdowns.

Sedan comes in at 10-0 and are the top seed of District 1. The Blue Devils have used a prolific offense to outscore its regular season opponents 484-60. The team overcame Flinthills in the first round before coming from behind to defeat Chase County last week.

Head coach Mick Holt said the Eagles are strong, athletic, and have no glaring weaknesses as a team.

The winner of this quarterfinal matchup moves on to the semifinals, where they'll take on the winner of Madison and Little River. Tonight's game can be heard on 690AM, KGGF. Pregame will start at 6:30 pm, with kickoff to follow at 7:00.
