Sedan Gets Measure of Revenge, Downs Chase County

The Sedan Blue Devils may have thought history was repeating itself as they were down 14-0 after one quarter of play. Sedan then proceeded to take over the game and outscored Chase County 34-12 over the final three quarters to walk home with a 34-26 win Friday night.

After swapping three and out's Chase County got onto the scoreboard when quarterback Mitch Budke found wide receiver Aiden Eidman in the back of the end zone to put the Bulldogs up 6-0 after the two-point conversion failed. After forcing a turnover on downs, Chase County quickly got onto the scoreboard once again as Budke rushed down the right side of the field for a 26-yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead.

Sedan immediately went on a 40-yard drive punctuated by a one-yard TD run from Brec Long to make the score 14-6.

After another Chase County touchdown, Long once again found pay dirt.

After Chase County threw an interception late in the half, Long once again made the Bulldogs pay. After the two-point version, Sedan headed to the locker room with a 22-20 lead.

The defenses of both teams had control of the first part of the second half before Sedan was able to strike with the big play once again. The team would swap touchdowns to arrange the final score.

Sedan moves to 10-0 on the season and will host Canton-Galva next week while Chase County's season ends with an 8-2 record.
