Neodesha Finalizes Agreement with Labette Health for EMS Services

The City of Neodesha has approved and executed an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Labette Health to enhance and stabilize emergency medical services for Neodesha and the surrounding area.

Under the new partnership, Labette Health will manage day-to-day EMS operations on behalf of the City of Neodesha while maintaining local EMS presence as well as the Neodesha EMS identity. Operations will continue out of the current facility.

Funding for the partnership will come from the city's portion of the countywide 1% EMS sales tax. The agreement also includes a 90-day termination clause, providing the city flexibility should the partnership ever fail to meet community expectations.

Wilson County had wanted the city to consider making a deal with Fredonia EMS, but city officials said they had only received a brief outline from that group.

The agreement was approved at the Neodesha City Commission's December 10th meeting.
