A wanted man leads deputies on a high-speed chase before crashing his vehicle.
A Labette County Sheriff's deputy observed a tan Ford F-150 run a stop sign at a high rate of speed. After seeing the deputy the driver attempted to lose him and even drove through a field. The driver reached speeds over 100mph and ran four motorists off the road. The suspect slammed on their brakes, causing the deputy to sideswipe the suspect’s vehicle. Then sped up attempting to ram the deputy’s vehicle. The driver missed a curve and hit a tree.
Emergency medical and Oswego and Neosho fire departments were dispatched to the accident. The driver was transported to Labette Health, where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. He was identified as 52-year-old John Henry Jones V. Deputies learned that Jones’ was driving while suspended and had arrest warrants issued out of Montgomery County and Neosho County.
