Authorities in Harvey County continue to investigate a crashed pick up truck found on a rural property with the body of a dead man inside.
The crash site was discovered on Sunday afternoon near the interchange of US-50 and I-135.
Investigators believe the truck drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
The victim has not been identified but the truck is registered to 42-year-old Jonathan Clayton of Peabody. Clayton has been serving as the interim city clerk in Peabody and has been missing since August 3rd when allegations of misconduct during his time at the Kansas Department of Commerce surfaced.
An autopsy will be conducted in the case.
