The Montgomery County Commission will gather for a special meeting Wednesday to finalize the county budget for next year.

The 2021 county budget is expected to be $30.6 million, up from $27.5 million in 2020. KGGF's Jared Sleppy reported that the biggest jump in the budget is the Special Bridge Fund, increasing to $2.1 million from $600 thousand the previous year.

At Monday's regular meeting, a local citizen expressed concerns about the raising of the budget. The special meeting will begin at 9:45 a.m. at  the commissioners room, in the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence.
