Brandon Wyatt Owens, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
A lifetime resident of rural Tyro, Kansas. Brandon was born in 1957, to Dave and Wydene Owens. His mother, Wydene survives along with Jo Owens, who raised Brandon as well.
Brandon leaves behind his true love of his life, Janice, of their home. Surviving is his sister, Robin (Chuck) and four half siblings. Also survived by children, Justin (Donna), Cari (Jason), Kim (Aaron), Keith (Cami). Papa Brandon will be missed by 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his dad, Dave Owens and grandson, Dalton Owens.
Brandon enjoyed hunting, fishing, Harley adventures, and most recently hitting the outdoor trails in his side by side, with wife, Janice and their amazing friends.
From birth to death Brandon’s love of the farm/ranch life was apparent to all. Custom harvester, truck driver, grain hopper trailers, pump jack manufacturing, oil producer and cattle rancher, to name a few of his lifelong achievements.
Brandon Wyatt was a namesake of his grandfather, Wyatt with three others continuing the Wyatt name legacy. Brandon’s son, grandson and great-grandson. Instilled in Brandon from his grandfather, Wyatt, was the strength and work ethics that it took to be the dedicated man that he was. Along with the fortitude teaching of his dad, Dave, to ensure a lifelong ability to succeed in business and otherwise. With that and Brandon’s dad’s humor, love of family, mechanical talents, and that personality with bantering, oh okay, he could be very onery . . . (which we all loved and will always miss. . . so much).
Following Brandon’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family will hold a gathering to greet friends on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church 300 W. 9th St. Coffeyville, KS 67337 in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Group. These may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS.
