Robert (Bob) Lynn Shepard, passed away August 22, 2026, at the age of 73. Bob was happily married to Barbara (Babs) Shepard, his wife of 41 years, and together they were proud members of the Coffeyville community. Together they were parishioners of Holy Name Catholic Church, heavily involved in the Coffeyville Community College Foundation, and life-long fans of the CCC Red Ravens and Kansas Jayhawks.
Bob was member of Acme Foundry for 40 years, retiring as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. One of the highlights of his career was accepting a $1 million grant, which resulted in the creation of 50 jobs to the community from then Kansas Governor Sam Brownback on behalf of Acme.
He was also a pilar of community civic organizations, including Rotary for over 40 years, a board member of the CCC Foundation for 20 years, and a board member of the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Foundation for 15 years. He was also a member of the Kansas Certified Public Accountant’s Society for 40 years.
Bob was also a loving father, grandfather, and, unknown to many, a rowdy trickster who loved stirring up his family.
Bob was born February 22,1953, in Cherryvale, KS, and graduated from Cherryvale Highschool and Pittsburg State University. He was preceded in death by Babs, his sister Joyce Akins, and his parents, Robert and Virginia.?
He is survived by son Bradley, daughter-in-law Laura, and grandchildren Andrew Jonathan and Hannah Rose Shepard of Noblesville, Indiana; and son Brian, daughter-in-law Kristen, and granddaughter Elizabeth Wilkin Shepard of Kingwood, Texas. He is also survived by?sister- and brother-in-law Ann and Stewart Crow; brother-in-law Steve Wilkin, and nieces and nephews Denise Garland, Melinda Smith, Tiffany Crow-Ryan, Christopher Crow, R. Todd Wilkin, Lindsay Reichenberger, and their respective families.
Following Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
A Celebration of Life Gathering with the family present to receive friends will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Father Drew Dellasega will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
