Jeanette Hunt

Jeanette Hunt, 87, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Medicalodges Coffeyville on Midland.

She was born on October 28, 1938, in Coffeyville to Rex and Bertha Akers. Jeanette grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School.

After graduation she married Ronnie Goodbar. They had three children together, Cris, Dianna, and Randy. Ronnie was accidentally electrocuted in an oil field accident in 1971. She later married Keith Hunt. They were later divorced.

Jeanette was a excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She loved the holidays and getting together with family. She also enjoyed gardening and had quite a green thumb. But her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving to honor her memory is her daughter, Dianna Tracy and son, Cris (Debbie) Goodbar; her loving grandchildren, Ashley (Wes) Theiss, and Lindsey (Dustin) Rhodes; and great-grandchildren, Alina Theiss, Camden Rhodes, and Madelyn Rhodes.

Loved ones awaiting Jeanette in heaven are her parents, Rex and Bertha Akers; her husband Ronnie Goodbar, her son, Randy Goodbar; and brothers, Jack Akers and Don Akers.

Friends may call on Monday, June 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

A private family graveside service will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Pastor Allan Swinson of Tyro Christian Church officiating.

Jeanette requested memorial donations be made to Owasso TOPSoccer (a soccer program for kids with special needs) in honor of Jeanette’s great-grandson Camden. Contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
