Randy F. Cornett

 

Randy F. Cornett, 67, of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

 

Randy was born on March 2, 1959, in Coffeyville to William Chester and Elsie Mae (Oder) Cornett. He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended Lowell Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, and Field Kindley High School before furthering his education at Coffeyville Community College.

 

Randy spent several years living in Texas before eventually returning to his cherished hometown. He was a proud and dedicated automobile and diesel mechanic, a profession that not only employed him but also became one of his favorite hobbies. With a wrench in hand, Randy could often be found working on cars or tinkering with engines. Randy was truly a little man with a big heart.

 

Randy leaves behind his loving wife, Glenda Cornett, to whom he was married on September 17, 2011. He is also survived by his sons, Josh (Andrea) Cornett and Joey Cornett; stepchildren, Sarah (James) Key, Yancey (Desiree) Johnson, and Billy Joe Johnson; sisters, Pat (Jerry) Upton, Mary (Paul) Himmelreich, and Donna (Doug) Payden; brother, Tony Cornett; sister-in-law, Linda Cornett; and seven beloved grandchildren. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elsie Cornett, and brothers, David and Roger Cornett.

 

Following Randy's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

 

A memorial service celebrating Randy's life will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, at 6:00pm in the First Church of God, 2010 West 5th St. in Coffeyville with Pastor Earl Heath and Mark Wilson officiating.
