Michael Wayne Talbot, 66, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at his home.
He was born in Baxter Springs, KS, on November 14, 1959, to Jerry and Shirley (Marsh) Talbot. Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was deeply devoted to his family, church and community. Mike spent 7 years in the Army. He worked for Fastenal inside Dixon Mfg. and retired as a probation officer for Montgomery County Corrections in 2023. He loved driving for Connections and Quest for Four County Mental Health as his retirement job. His dedication to his community was evident through his 27 years of residence in Coffeyville.
After growing up and attending school in Baxter Springs and Riverton, Michael graduated from Baxter Springs High School. He went on to attend Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, and later received his bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Following his marriage in 1995 to his beloved wife, Martha Splechter, the couple lived in Independence until moving to Coffeyville in 1999. Michael was a gifted singer and spent many years as a choir member, worship leader, and sang on the worship team. His love for music and his community led him to serve as Santa Claus for many years, bringing joy to countless children during the holiday season.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Martha, his children, Charissa Talbot, Anna Talbot, and Aaron Talbot; his grandchildren, Kooper Talbot and Aviara Interiano; his brothers, Brian (Janet) Talbot and Larry (Sylvia) Talbot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Shirley Talbot.
Visitation with the family greeting friends will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to service time at the First Assembly of God located at 1504 West 8th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas. A funeral service celebrating Michael's life will follow at 2:00 p.m.at the same location.
