Deanna Lynn Carlson

 

Deanna Lynn Carlson, age 60, of Hayward, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota, surrounded by family.

 

Deanna Lynn was born on January 2, 1966, to Gary and Scottia (Snyder) Hadley. The second oldest of four children, she grew up in Derby, Kansas and in Ankeny, Iowa. Deanna graduated from Ankeny High School in 1984.

 

After high school Deanna tried her hand at cosmetology school, ultimately discovering that being a CNA for the elderly would be her calling. Deanna went on to meet and eventually married Tim Chadwick; they had four children together and later divorced. She later met the love of her life Scott Carlson in February of 2012, she went on to marry him on July 5, 2014.

 

Deanna was a homemaker for the last years of her life. She enjoyed sewing, reading her Bible, and shopping. Deanna could always be found cheering for her favorite team, the K-State Wildcats. Deanna loved being a Grandma to all her grandkids, she would go above and beyond, visiting and calling as much as she could.

 

Deanna faced many struggles in her life, but her family takes comfort knowing that she is now free of her earthly challenges.

 

Surviving to honor her memory is her husband, Scott Carlson of Hayward, Wisconsin; her father, Gary Hadley and wife, Geri of Indianola, Iowa; children, Amber Ellis of Salem, Nebraska, Zack Chadwick and wife, Morgan of David City, Nebraska, Jennifer Chadwick-Rucker and wife, Abbygail of Fremont, Nebraska, Caleb Chadwick and wife, Mackenzie of Vermillion, Kansas; step daughters, Heather Gavin and Matt of Lee Summit, Missouri, Amy and Bailey Carlson of Peculiar, Missouri; grandkids, Delayna Ellis, Briggs Chadwick, Carson Chadwick, Cohen Chadwick, Josie Chadwick; Stella Gavin, Sofia Gavin; and a new granddaughter expected in September; her siblings, Joe Hadley and wife, Cheryl of Des Moines, Iowa, Julie Moses of Coffeyville, Kansas along with numerous extended family members and friends. Deanna was preceded in death by her mother, Scottie Lenertz, sister, Krystelle Rene’ Cress, brother-in-law, Danny Moses, her aunt, Sallie Ann Gwartney, and nephew, Robert Simpson.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. The family will be present on Tuesday evening at the funeral home to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

 

Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Coffeyville. Interment will follow at the Harrisonville Cemetery in Montgomery County.
