Daisy Blanche White

 

Daisy Blanche White, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Medicalodge in Coffeyville, Kansas.  

 

Daisy was born on March 11, 1939, in Altamont, Kansas to John and Elsie (Buckley) Mourning.  She grew up in Altamont where she graduated from high school.  

 

On September 14, 1958, she married the love of her life, Gerald White at the Angola United Methodist Church.  Of this union, three children were born, Greg, Ron and Roger.  In addition to helping with the children and their home, Daisy enjoyed working as a legal secretary for Mr. Hildreth of the Becker-Hildreth-Eastman & Gossard Law Firm.  

 

She was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women’s group.  She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and at the Genesis Food Pantry in Coffeyville.  Daisy was incredibly selfless, kind, and caring.  She was an excellent seamstress and made her own work clothes.  Other hobbies included gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting, painting, and stained-glass art.  Most of all, she loved her family and the time she spent surrounded by them.  

 

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Gerald White; sons, Greg White and wife, Cheryl, Ron White and wife, Cheryl, Roger White and wife, Jilinda; grandchildren, Jacob White and wife, Katie, Jennifer Ricke and husband, Doug, Ashley Allen and husband, James, Melissa White-Andrews, Amos White and wife, Liz, Samantha Hang and husband, David; thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren along with numerous extended family members and friends.  Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Mourning, brothers, Donald and Glen Mourning.  

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  

 

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Richland Cemetery in Angola, Kansas.  Greg Traxson will officiate.  

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Labette County High School or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W.
