Christy Kay Hilderbrand

 

Christy Kay Hilderbrand, age 67, of Edna, Kansas passed away at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with her family by her side.

 

Christy was born on November 4, 1958, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Jerry and Patricia (Johnson) Coldren.  She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools.  

 

On March 21, 1981, she married the love of her life, Clinton Hilderbrand in Delaware, Oklahoma.  They were just a few days shy of celebrating 45 years together.  Together they raised their two children, Keri and Justin.  In addition to tending to the house and kids, Christy worked as a CMA for Windsor Place Nursing Home for many years.  She went on to work security for John Deere through Allied Security for a time as well.  Christy enjoyed attending Crosstimbers Church in Edna.  She was very good with crafts and making jewelry.  She loved crocheting, she would crochet blankets for all the new babies born in the family.  Most of all she loved the time she spent surrounded by her family.  

 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Clinton Hilderbrand of the home; daughter, Keri Jesseph and companion Robert Beard; son, Justin Hilderbrand and companion, Ashton Martinez; grandchildren, Bradyn Hilderbrand, Osten Kuehn, Peyton Jesseph, Trinity Pena and husband, Jesus, Justin “Ryan” Hilderbrand; siblings, Kimberly Price, Brian (Barbara) Coldren, Melissa (David) Roberts.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Patricia Coldren and sister, Lori.  

 

Following Christy’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.  

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Edna Fire Department or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
