Michael Glen Twitchell, age 78, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. 

 

Mike was born on December 5, 1947, in Coffeyville, Kansas to John and Eulene (Knisley) Twitchell.  He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended local schools.  He proudly served in the United States Army. 

 

On February 7, 1969, he married the love of his life, Sherlene “Diana” Phillips.  The couple made their home in rural Coffeyville.  He loved being in the country.  He enjoyed his dogs, cattle, horses, donkeys and all the farm animals he cared for over the years.  He also enjoyed woodworking.  Mike was a hard worker; he spent most of his career with the City of Coffeyville in the Wastewater Department.  He was also a member of the Church of God. 

 

Surviving to cherish his memory are his sons, Travis Twitchell, Mike Twitchell; son-in-law, John Justice; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Deatherage and Karen (Robert) Moore along with a host of extended relatives and friends.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eulene Twitchell; wife, Diana Twitchell; daughter, Renea Justice and sister, Judy Raney. 

 

Following Mike’s wishes, no public services will be held.  Interment will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery north of Coffeyville where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Diana.

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Coffeyville Friends of Animals; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
