Phyllis A. Griffith, 90, of Coffeyville, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Medicalodges Coffeyville on Midland.
She was born on March 3, 1935, near Angola, Kansas, at her family home. She attended rural schools in the Angola area and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont, Kansas.
Phyllis was a beloved figure in her community and among family, well-known for her kindness and love for all creatures, big and small. A long-time resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, she was a retired Telephone Operator who served her community tirelessly for many years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
Phyllis was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an accomplished quilter, and her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for her pets, particularly her beloved cats. Feeding birds and caring for stray animals was a regular part of her daily routine. Phyllis was also deeply involved with her church, Tyro Christian Church, where she was an active member of the Joy Group and the Blanket Group.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Gerald (Daisy) White, her nephews, Greg (Cheryl) White, Ron (Cheryl) White, and Roger (Jilinda) White, numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Griffith, and her parents, Lyman and Naomi White.
Friends may call at David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road in Coffeyville on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Richland Cemetery, north of Angola, Kansas with Evangelist David Bycroft presiding.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
