Serafina Louise O'Connell,

Serafina Louise O'Connell, 15, passed away Monday night September 29, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born on January 14, 2010, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Serafina spent her 15 years enriching the lives of those around her with her vibrant spirit and infectious joy. A resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, she was a beloved member of the community, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Serafina was an incredible young woman with a passion for sports, art, and most importantly, her family and friends. She attended Holy Name Catholic Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School and was a sophomore at Field Kindley High School. This summer, Serafina proudly worked her first job at Big Hill Splash in Coffeyville. Serafina was a member of the Field Kindley High School Volleyball and Softball teams and played softball with the Coffeyville Lady Rockies. When she wasn't on the field, Serafina enjoyed expressing her creativity and love for life with painting. She loved to travel with her family. Her favorite trip was to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Her dream was to visit Alaska.

Serafina is survived by her loving parents, Michael and Anastasia O'Connell, and her cherished sisters, Maia and Avery O'Connell all of Coffeyville. She is also remembered by her devoted grandparents, Jerry and Jerrie Ann Lowrance of Coffeyville, and Michael “Scoop” O'Connell of Valdosta, Georgia, and Cheryl Myatt of Wichita, Kansas.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home, located at 306 North Cline Road in Coffeyville.

The rosary will be recited later that day, at 6:30 p.m., at Holy Name Catholic Church, 408 Willow St. in Coffeyville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Name Catholic Church, 408 Willow St. with Father Drew Dellasega officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Field Kindley High School Athletics; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
