Jimmie Dale Cook, 78, of Edna, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Iris Memory Care in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

He was born on May 20, 1947, in Coffeyville to James D. and Maxine L. Cook. Jimmie Dale grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1965 and attended Coffeyville Community College.

 

Jimmie Dale served in the Kansas National Guard for six years.

 

On February 24, 1968, he married the love of his life Christine Manley in Coffeyville. Following their marriage, they made their home in Coffeyville until 1972 when they moved to their ranch near Edna, Kansas, where they raised their children Amy and Darrin. Jimmie Dale spent the next 40 plus years raising cattle.

 

Jimmie Dale attended the First Assembly of God when he was younger. He enjoyed participating in shooting sports and spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include his wife, Christine of the home; his daughter, Amy Hough of Edna; his son Darrin Cook of Wichita; his grandchildren, Kylie Hough, Kaitlyn Hough, Claire Cook and Malia Cook; and numerous other family members and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maxine Cook, and sister, Pamela Wall.

 

Following Jimmie Dale’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. A memorial service celebrating Jimmie Dale’s life will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas, on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

 

Friends may sign the register book on Friday, September 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

 

The family suggests memorials in Jimmie Dale's memory to the Labette County High School Trap Shooting Team; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
