Robert L. Lester, 75, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Medicalodges Coffeyville on Midland.

 

He was born July 20, 1950, in Coffeyville to Theo and Louise (Ryan) Lester. Robert grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, Delaware, Oklahoma and Lenapah, Oklahoma graduating from Lenapah High School.

 

On January 6, 1989, he married Leona Utley. Following their marriage, they made their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma until moving to Coffeyville in 2018. Robert was employed as a road grader operator with Nowata County District 3 until his retirement.

 

He attended the First Church of God where his wife was a member. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include his wife Leona of the home; one daughter Jennifer Adkins; his grandchildren Trevor Penrod, Peyton Penrod, Nevaeh Lee, Anabell Lee, Gabriel Lee, and Lillian Lee; great-grandson Bryan Penrod; and sister Jean Ann Rhoden.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

 

Following Robert’s wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. No service is scheduled at this time.
