Adrian M. Riley, 79, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.
He was born October 8, 1945, near Peru, Kansas to Edward and Mary Verlyn (Kelley) Riley. Adrain grew up on the family farm in Chautauqua County west of Peru. He attended school in Peru graduating from Peru High School in 1964.
Adrian was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After being discharged he returned to Chautauqua County and became a Deputy with Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office before joining Union Pacific Railroad as a Special Agent. This position took him to St. Louis, Missouri and Arkansas before returning to Coffeyville where he worked until his retirement.
In 1984, Adrian married Debra “Debi” Wilmoth Lewman. Following their marriage, they made their home in rural Coffeyville. Adrian later lived in Kansas, Oklahoma before returning to Coffeyville.
Adrian enjoyed raising horses and fox hounds and loved to hunt.
Survivors include his wife and caregiver Debi Riley, step-children Jeff (Alicia Campbell) Lewman, and Jon (LaSinda Wilson) Lewman, Krista (Larry) Wade, two brothers Kenneth (Priscilla) Riley and Steve (Shari) Riley, grandchildren Trent (Shadie) Riley, Mandy (Mike) Gates, Kylie (James Melton) Lewman, Jeffrey (Eva Tickle) Lewman, Hannah Lewman, and Keenon Humphries; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Shawn M. Riley; step-daughter Jamie L. Short; brothers Carl Riley, Gene Riley, and Curtis Riley; and sister Edna Stephens.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2025 at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville with Tom Barton of Caney Church of Christ officiating.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral in Coffeyville.
