Jeffrey Floyd Powers, 90, of Dearing, Kansas passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his home.
He was born on June 23, 1935, in Coffeyville to Joseph and Alice (Pierce) Powers. Jeffrey grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School. He was the great nephew of Dalton Gang member Bill Powers.
Jeffrey was a veteran of the U.S. Army after receiving his honorable discharge he returned to the Coffeyville area and worked at the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, he later was a service technician for Montgomery Ward in Coffeyville before going to work at Funk Manufacturing Co. after 10 years he left and joined Automotive Control Corp. in Independence where he was employed until retiring. After retiring from ACC he became bored and went to work at Country Mart in Coffeyville.
In 1976 he married Diana Kissack and they had four children. The couple later divorced.
Jeffrey was a member of Living Church of God. In his free time, he enjoyed being a member of the Ham Radio Club and keeping his hands busy repairing many different things.
Survivors include his children, Tim Powers, Tamera Robertson and husband Johnny, Jeremy Powers, and Jennifer Clark and husband David; grandchildren Charie Ardrey and husband Dakota, and Branden Mitchell and wife Lily; and great grandchildren Ashlyn Ardrey, Brynlee Ardrey, and Gavin Mitchell; his brother Ronald Powers and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Alice Powers; his sister Patricia Powers; and grandson Stoney Blecha.
Following Jeffrey’s wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
