Our mother, Barbara Ellen (Peyton), (Thompson), Abbott, passed away on June 3rd, 2025, at “The Journey Home” in Bartlesville, Oklahoma after a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara was born on June 26th, 1943, to Frank and Margaret (Hopkins) Peyton.  She attended schools in Liberty and Coffeyville, Kansas. She later married Lloyd Thompson, and they shared three children together, Rhonda Camp of Pflugerville, Texas, Lloyd LeRoy Thompson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Terry Thompson (deceased). Barbara’s work history was in Coffeyville at TG&Y and Casey’s. After she moved to Dewey, Oklahoma, she worked for Dillard’s Department Store then finished her career at Bartlesville Health & Rehab Center where she enjoyed working in the kitchen alongside the dietitian preparing food for the residents. Oh’ how she loved to cook and entertain friends and family. She loved her cat, Ralph, and the many other pets that she had throughout the years.  She and her husband enjoyed working together at the rehab center for many years.  Mom enjoyed shopping for her home and decorating, which was a never-ending hobby of hers. Several years later after the loss of her spouse, Barbara moved to Bartlesville to be close in proximity to her son and daughter in law, where she resided until moving into “The Journey Home” to live out her final days where she was cared for by the amazing staff there, Cornerstone Hospice and her family.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Thompson) Camp of Pflugerville, Texas, Lloyd LeRoy Thompson and spouse, Robin, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Charles Honeycutt and spouse, Terry, of Plano Texas.  Also, left behind are five grandchildren: SaBrina Wilson and spouse, Reid, of Jarrell Texas, Tyson Kaminska of Pflugerville, Texas, Rebecca Nicholas and spouse, Cody, of Okinawa, Japan, Bethany Thompson of Cherryvale, Kansas and Jonathan Thompson and spouse, Lauren, of Coweta, Oklahoma.
