Deborah "Debbie" Kay Manley

Deborah "Debbie" Kay Manley, a loving and compassionate soul, passed away at home in Coffeyville, Kansas on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the age of 77.

 

Debbie was born on May 30, 1948, in Concordia, Kansas to Gene and Mary (Sack) Mills. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Field Kindley High School with the class of 1966.

 

On August 6, 1966, she married the love of her life, Orville "Jr" Manley, in Coffeyville. A journey of love and companionship that spanned nearly six decades, they made their home in Wichita, Kansas, before returning to Coffeyville in 1978. Debbie's professional journey saw her serve as the assistant secretary at Garfield Elementary School in Coffeyville for twenty years. Here, her compassionate nature and generous spirit had a profound impact on the lives of students and staff alike.

 

When not at work, Debbie found joy in the simple pleasures of life - cooking delectable meals and shopping. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society, offering her time and energy to the service of her community.

 

Her legacy of love and generosity continues in the lives of her cherished husband, Orville "Jr" Manley, her girls; beloved daughter, Angela Hughes, her adored granddaughters, Sidney (Christian) Jantz and Skyler Hughes, her siblings, Janet Farrell and Randy Mills along with numerous extended family members and close friends. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Mary Mills.

 

Following Debbie's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 01:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville, with Father James Schibi officiating. 

 

Memorial contributions can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Alzheimer's Association and can be left at the funeral home or mailed in C/O David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd., Coffeyville, Kansas, 67337.
