Roberta Sue Artherton, 77, of Coffeyville passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospital in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
She was born on June 14, 1947, in Sedan, Kansas to Robert George and Elizabeth Ann (Raybourn) Dunn. Roberta grew up and attended school in Sedan graduating from Sedan High School in 1965.
On July 4, 1964, Roberta married the love of her life Jack J. Artherton at Iola, Kansas. Following their marriage, they made their home in Pratt, Kansas and Moundridge, Kansas before moving to Coffeyville in 196_ where they raised their three daughters.
Roberta worked at Western Publishing in Coffeyville for 13 ½ years, she later worked at Electra in Independence and was Assistant Librarian at Coffeyville Community College for five years until retiring.
She was a member of Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022 Ladies Auxiliary, and Order of Eastern Star Golden Rod Chapter #163 in Yates Center, Kansas. When her girls were in school, she was very active in PTA and Girl Scouts serving as chairlady of Girl Scout Cookie sales. She enjoyed going hunting with Jack and riding around country roads scouting for good places to hunt and spending time at the bowling alley. Roberta was an avid photographer, and enjoyed capturing her kids, grandkids and friends in pictures, she also was an avid Coffeyville Red Ravens fan and loved taking pictures at ball games and school events.
Survivors include her husband Jack of the home; her daughters, Michelle Boomershine and husband David, Jack Fox, and Stacy Moore and husband Andy, her grandchildren, Matthew Boomsershine and Sidney Atherton; her great-grandchildren Jayden Boomsershine and Rayne Boomershine; her brother Craig Dunn and wife Becky; and half-sister Pam Haukaas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert G. Dunn in 1954, her mother Elizabeth Dunn-Elam in 2014, her grandson Jonathan Boomershine in 2007, her granddaughter Brittany Fox in 2009, and her brother Robert J. Dunn in 2021.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas with David Bycroft and Allan Swinson officiating. Burial will follow in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
