Kimberly Rene Moran, 66, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025. She was born on March 6, 1959, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Ruth Eileen Purdy. She spent most of her childhood in Earlton, Kansas, where she lived with her grandparents Leo and Margaret Purdy and developed her love for cars.
Kimberly married the love of her life, Thomas Moran, and they shared 36 wonderful years together until his passing. She remained a devoted widow, cherishing the memories they created. A woman of resilience and ambition, she began her career as an automotive mechanic in Chanute KS, before pursuing her passion for helping others. She graduated with honors from Neosho County Community College with a degree in Nursing, embodying both intelligence and compassion in her work.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Moran; her mother, Ruth Purdy; and her brother, Fred Purdy.
Kimberly leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Thomas Moran, and his children, Alex, Mellisa, and Adriana; her son, Ray Moran, and his wife, Jennie Moran, along with their children, Haley Owens, Havana Dills, and Hayden Moran; and her daughter, Kimberly Buchanan, and her children, Ryan Moran, Carley Wilson, Trenton Wilson, and Kenzi Kessler. And 12 great grandchildren.
Kimberly will be remembered for her strength, independence, and love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Following Kimberly’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, KS.
A Memorial Service will be held by the family on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville. Pastor Randy DePriest will officiate.
