Carl E Freidline

Carl E Freidline, age 80 of rural Caney passed away on March 17, 2025, at his home. Carl was born October 14, 1944, in Coffeyville, KS to Marvin and Etha Aleen (Moser) Freidline. Carl graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1962. He went to work for Carter Ranch while in high school.

 

Carl then worked for Phillips 66 from 1965 to 1970, while working for Phillips 66 he met and married Sandra Thomas in 1967, which they made their home in Caney on fifth street.

 

Carl worked for his dad Marvin on the family farm from 1970 to 1991 and he was a sub rural mail carrier for Dick Shafer in 1986. During that time Carl and Sandra bought their farm adjoining his dad’s farm.

 

Carl then became a Rural Mail Carrier after Dick Shafer retired from that position. Carl retired from the Postal Service in 2002 which he served 32 years with the United States Postal Service.

 

In 2003 Carl decided to work part time for Duane Vining mowing the Copan Lake, also during that time he decided to work for Keith Aitken until 2011. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed his family, fishing, and hunting.

 

In 2011 he decided to work part time for the T bar T farm, David Todd, Carl’s heart was still in farming. That was his love to be on the tractor watching all sorts of animals and planting the seeds.

 

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Aleen Freidline, grandparents, Frank and Minnie Freidline and in-laws JC Thomas and Dorothy. Those left to cherish his memory, include his wife Sandra of the home, son Travis Freidline and his wife Erin, their children, Paige, Jordan, and Bryce Freidline of Wamego, KS, daughter Carla (Freidline) Keene and her husband Joel, their children Jacob and Joshua Keene. Additional survivors include brother-in-law Ronald L. Thomas and wife Joanne, two nephews, Curtis Thomas and Shawn Thomas, and his faithful dog Charlie.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 10:00am at Tyro Christin Church with burial following at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, KS. Friends are invited to sign the register and offer support to the family on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Tyro Christin Church from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials be made payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and they may be left with or sent in care of David W.
