Myrtle Marie Flanders, 94, of Coffeyville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Medicalodge Coffeyville on Midland Home and Sight.

She was born on January 31, 1931, in Lenapah, Oklahoma, to Paul and Viola (Gerler) Miesner. Myrtle grew up and attended school in the Lenapah area graduating from Lenapah HIgh School.

Myrtle's life was defined by her dedication to her family and her strong work ethic. She married Marvin Flanders on September 29th, 1950, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their sons Glenn and David.

Known for her dedication, Myrtle served the community through her work at her church and at various establishments that she worked at including Kress', Newberry's, George's Cafeteria, Litwin's, and Wal-Mart in Coffeyville, Kansas. Even in her retirement, she was known for her meticulous ironing skills, providing her services to local businessmen and families. In her leisure time, Myrtle enjoyed quiet activities such as quilting, crocheting, knitting, and gardening. She found peace in these simple pleasures and used them as expressions of her love for her family and friends.

Myrtle was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She is survived by her son David Flanders and his wife, Becky, her daughter-in-law Diana Flanders, five grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin Flanders, her son Glenn Flanders, her grandson Jeromy Flanders, her parents Paul and Viola Miesner, brother Eugene "Gene" Miesner, and sister Lucille Miesner.
