Donald "Don" Wayne Males

Donald “Don” Wayne Males, age 71, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Medicalodge Coffeyville on Midland. 

 

Don was born on October 21, 1953, in Hugo, Oklahoma to Al and Anna (Crimmins) Males.  He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended schools, graduating from Field Kindley High School. 

 

On March 12, 1982, he married the love of his life, Vickie Elaine Johnson in Miami, Oklahoma.  The couple made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their two children, Craig and Kara.  Vickie preceded him in death on October 30, 2020. 

 

Don was a skilled and hard-working individual; he spent 33 years with the City of Coffeyville until his retirement as the Public Service Director in 2009.  In his free time, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, golf, hunting and going to basketball games.  Most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. 

 

Surviving to honor his memory are his son, Craig Males and wife, Tamara of Coffeyville; his daughter, Kara Dawn Males of Coffeyville; four grandchildren, Brayden Males, Daxon Males, Kinsley Males and Rylan Males; siblings, Sharon High and husband, Clark of Coffeyville, Bud Males and wife, Janet of Langley, Oklahoma, along with numerous extended family and many friends.  Don was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Anna Males; wife, Vickie Males; brother, Charles Males; and sisters, Alice Gillespie and Cathy Primo. 

 

Following Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  No public services are scheduled at this time.  A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.
