Susan Kay Pollett, age 73, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Susan was born on December 21, 1951 in Coffeyville, Kansas to John and Lois (Purdy) Blakslee. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools, graduating from Field Kindley High School. Susan furthered her education at Coffeyville Community College where she earned her associate degree.
Susan was united in marriage to Scott “Randy” Pollett in 1971. From their union, two
children were born, Shannon and Shawn. The couple later divorced.
Susan was caring and hard-working. She worked for Dixon Industries for several years until it closed. She then went to work for Bartlett Mill in the lab. She enjoyed bowling, collecting stamps, researching genealogy, diamond painting, trips to Vegas with her best friend Debbie, and she loved spending time surrounded by her family and her dogs, Libby and Baby.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Shannon Uhrmacher and husband, Ross of Coffeyville, Kansas, Shawn Pollett of Navarre, Florida, grandchildren, Shelby (Hunter) Hudson, Taylor Uhrmacher (Colton Browne), great grandchildren, Saige Whitworth, Harper Hudson and Cale Hudson, siblings, Connie (Steve) Bisby, Kerry Beeson, Kay (Benny) Yeubanks, Kristi (Greg) Smith, her best friend Debbie Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lois Blakslee.
Following Susan’s wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. No public services are scheduled at this time.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
