Mary Francis Fricke, 84, of Coffeyville passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Medicalodge Coffeyville on Midland.
She was born on June 1, 1940, in Chetopa, Kansas, to Edward and Georgia (Bates) Doherty. Mary grew up and attended school in Chetopa graduating from Chetopa High School.
On June 17, 1973, she married James "Jim" Fricke at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville, with stints in Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas City before she returned to Coffeyville in 2000. Mary had a deep passion for sewing and embroidering, talents she honed into a thriving embroidery business during her time in Kansas City. Her greatest joy being with her family who she cherished more than anything.
Mary was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Fricke, of the home, her children, Cindy King, Lisa Mars, and Jimmy Fricke. She also leaves behind her siblings, Ed Doherty and Norma Swank. Her legacy of love continues through her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Georgia Doherty, her sons Jackie Fricke and Danny Fricke, an infant daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
Following Mary's wishes cremations has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. No services are scheduled at this time. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville.
