Charles Boyd Thomas, 73, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home.

 

He was born on October 10, 1951, in Coffeyville at Coffeyville Regional Hospital to Boyd and Zelma (Strader) Thomas.  He grew up and attended school in Coffeyville attending Longfellow, Roosevelt and Field Kindley High School graduating in 1969. He attended Coffeyville Junior College and graduated from Vo-Tech school in 1971, where he learned his trade as a Draftsman. In his youth he loved woodworking, drawing, painting, riding bikes and fish. Before getting married he worked at Velma & Jack’s Tavern.

 

He married Vicki D. Blake on June 19, 1976. They were married for 48 years when she passed away on July 20, 2024. She was the love of his life, as he was hers. They had one daughter Tabitha born on December 28, 1978. Charles was proud of his daughter, who graduated from Field Kindley High School, Coffeyville Community College with honors and Pittsburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in business, and later continued her education receiving her master’s degree. Tabitha inherited Charles’ drawing talent and love of fishing.

 

Charles worked at Halliburton, Jensen's, Aptus, TCI of Bartlesville, the City of Coffeyville, and Amazon.

 

He is survived by his daughter Tabitha Thomas and partner Missy Baird of Roland, Oklahoma, two nephews Jerry D. Thomas and Shawn W. Thomas; three sisters-in-law Rita Whittington, Sherrie Pauzauskie and Denise Yeubanks whom he loved as sisters.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Vicki, his parents Boyd and Zelma, and brother Jerry W. Thomas.

 

Following Charles’ wishes, cremation will take place and no service is planned at this time.
