Carol “Joan” Guerra, 80, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on June 17, 2024. She was born on August 1, 1943, in Newton, KS, to the late Ila Nell Brooker Adamson and Harold David Adamson (Bette). Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Phillip (Jim) James Guerra.

 

Joan, dedicated her career to being a hairdresser at JC Penney Salon. She touched the lives of many with her talent and passion for hairdressing.

Joan was an avid reader, a fanatic about yard work and crocheted beautiful afghans.

 

A devoted member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Coffeyville, KS. Joan volunteered in the Church’s Thrift Shop and Served on Church Committee. She found solace and community in her faith.

 

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her surviving family: daughters Vickie Logan Kolbinskie and Carol Logan Lowrey (Steve) and son Greg Logan (Terri).  Grandchildren: Spencer Kolbinskie (Tamara), Taylor Kolbinskie, Justin Logan (Jen), John Logan, Curtis Logan, Kyle Lowrey (Bailey), Jacob Lowrey (Nikki), Wesley Lowrey (Brittanie), Twenty great grandchildren, and Siblings: Judy Adamson Calbert (Ronald, deceased), Dorothy Adamson Dow (Steve, deceased), David Adamson (Linda), Pamela Adamson Bartley (Kenneth) and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

The family will hold a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Coffeyville.

 

Memorial contributions can be made in Carol “Joan” Guerra‘s name to St. Paul Episcopal Church in Coffeyville. Contributions can be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
