Judy Ann Williams

Judy Ann Williams, 64, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Saturday, April 6 th , 2024, in her home.

Judy was born November 9, 1959, in Chanute. The daughter of Paul Haight and Joan

(Copeland) Haight. She was the oldest of three children. Judy graduated in 1978 from Chanute

High School.

Judy married Doug Vogel in 1980 and they had one son, Eric. She later married Dave C.

Williams on December 10, 1996. For several years they ran Williams Electric together. After

they closed the business, she did freelance bookkeeping for numerous local companies

including the Chanute American Legion.

She enjoyed sewing and later in life she developed a love for cooking. She especially enjoyed

trying out new recipes and was notorious for tinkering with the ones she had “perfected.” She

loved her plants and flowers and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. Through the spring and

summer months, she was always the director of the outside yardwork and landscaping projects

for Dave and Eric to complete. She was passionate about her animals, including her grand-

dogs, and always considered all of them part of the family. She was a very strong, independent

woman, who was a hard worker, with a good heart. Nothing meant more to her than when

friends or family would come over for pool parties or to visit her.

Judy is survived by: Husband: Dave Williams; Mother: Joan Haight; Son: Eric Vogel and his wife

Niccole (Chanute); Stepson: Christopher Williams and his wife Scoti (Aliceville, KS); Brothers:

David Haight (Chanute), Phil Haight and his wife Linda, and their son Ryan (Louisburg, KS); five

grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Paul Haight.
