Gale A. Whitaker

Gale A. Whitaker, a thoughtful and compassionate soul, was born on January 6, 1952, in Independence, KS, and passed away on May 26, 2023. Throughout her life, Gale touched the hearts of many with her loving and supportive nature. A dedicated mother, sister, and grandmother, she was the epitome of strength and courage, always putting her family first. As a proud resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, Gale found immense joy and satisfaction in her work as the owner of her own kennel. Her passion for caring for dogs was evident to all who knew her, and her gentle, nurturing spirit made her a beloved figure in the community. Even after her retirement, her contagious enthusiasm for her hobbies never waned. Those who were fortunate enough to know Gale will remember her for her unwavering kindness and her infectious love for life. Gale Whitaker is survived by her daughter Christina Hillyard, son David Hillyard, brother Dean Crawford, and grandson Brandon Hillyard. She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Crawford, and mother, Leona Crawford, one son, Buddy Dale Hillyard, and one brother, Dale Crawford. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at David W. Barnes Funeral Home, located at 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas, 67337, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, frp,1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Pumpkin Creek Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.
