Keith Alan Hayes

Keith Alan Hayes, age 70, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at his home in rural Coffeyville, Kansas.

 

He was born on September 25, 1952, in Coffeyville to Betty (Jones) and Charley Hayes. Keith graduated from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College.

 

Keith married Debra Graue in 1973, they were later divorced. He married Terrie Harrington in 1987 and they made their home in rural Coffeyville.

 

Keith was retired from John Deere Coffeyville Works after 43 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved kayaking, hiking, and going on long walks with his family.  Keith enjoyed growing a huge garden and sharing his produce with others. In younger years Keith participated in recreational softball and volleyball.

 

One of his favorite things to do was keep up with his grandkids’ activities. He watched soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and golf games. Then he attended local fairs to watch them show cattle, pigs, goats, rabbits, and chickens.

 

Keith was a member of Tyro Christian Church and the local UAW 2366.

 

Survivors include his wife Terrie of the home, daughter Lisa and Keith Kuehn of rural Dearing, sons Todd and Lisa Hayes of Coffeyville, and Nathan Hayes of Coffeyville, grandchildren Makenna, Trinity, and Weston Kuehn, Halle Hayes, Bryan & Kayanna Adams and Tyler & Abby Adams, sisters Carol Foster of Sapulpa, OK; Julie Foister of rural Edna; and brother Kent and Karen Hayes of Columbia, MO along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Visitation will be held at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave. in Coffeyville on Sunday, February 19, from 3:00 to 5:00pm and services will be at Tyro Christian Church on Monday, February 20 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the FKHS Trap Team and may be left at the funeral home, please make checks payable to FKHS with Clay Target in the memo line.
