Carolyn "Sue" Mounts Farris

Carolyn “Sue” Mounts Farris passed away Sunday February 12, 2023, at St. Johns Ascension Hospital in Tulsa, Ok.

Sue had lived in Broken Arrow Oklahoma for over 45 years leading up to her death.

 

Sue was born in Coffeyville, Kansas to Alva James & Pansey Lee Mounts, she grew up in Coffeyville where she graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1965. She went on to attend Pittsburg State University where she received a degree in Elementary Education. Sue taught for a short time in Oklahoma and then moved to the Tulsa area and began working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Headquarters in Tulsa Oklahoma.

 

Sue retired from Met Life and worked for St Francis Hospital for several years as a insurance processor and then officially retired to volunteer for the Tulsa Botanic Gardens for several years.

 

Sue loved flowers and she loved her family deeply, Sue was always a call away whether it was a call to her sister, niece, nephew or grandson. She offered support and humor when life got tough, she always expressed her love thru reaching out and she will be deeply missed.

 

Sue married Rick Thompson and to that union, she had one son, Jason Lee Thompson who resides of the home. The role Sue loved the most was when she became Nana Sue, Jordan Duane Thompson was born and is the light of her life. She loved following all of Jordan’s activities and was very proud no matter what event it was.

 

Survivors include her Son Jason Lee Thompson of the home, Grandson Jordan Duane Thompson of Edmond Ok. Sister Janice Wright of Coffeyville, Nephew Jim Wright (Trudy) of Coffeyville Kansas. Niece Cindy Fenske (Benjy)of Republic Mo. 5 Great nieces and nephews Skylar, Taylor, Hunter, Korby, Aj and last but not least 4 Great-Great nieces and nephews Myla, Brynlee, Rett, Oak.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, KS.  Sue will be laid to rest in the garden of Devotion at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
