Walter Lee Beeson

Walter Lee Beeson passed from this life January 6, 2023, at his home in Edna, Kansas.  Walt was born on August 12, 1952, in Coffeyville Kansas to Edwin and Fannie (Holt) Beeson.  He attended Angola Grade School and graduated from Labette County High School in 1970.  Shortly after graduation, he moved to Craig County Oklahoma to live with Ralph and Vinnia Rexwinkle and soon became a permanent member of their family.

 

Walt worked for the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement.  He lived on Grand Lake for several years enabling him to enjoy two of his favorite pastimes, fishing and playing golf.  Another favorite activity was hunting and most winters he would return to the Rexwinkle’s for deer season.  In 2011, he moved back to Edna to live with his father.  Together they attended the Edna First Baptist Church.

 

Walt was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elizabeth Ann Beeson and Ralph Rexwinkle.  He is survived by Vinnia Rexwinkle of Welch Oklahoma, Kay Garrett, Steve Rexwinkle, Scott Rexwinkle, Beverly (Mike) McCoach, Ryan (Crystal) Rexwinkle and their families who loved him dearly.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 6-8 pm also at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.  Walter will be laid to rest near his parents in Richland Cemetery in Angola.  At the request of Walter, he wanted memorials to be made payable to either the Edna Volunteer Fire department and Edna B.E.A.R.S. in his memory, those can be left in care of the chapel.
