Mary Ellen Bogart

Mary Ellen Bogart passed away on December 20, 2022, at Redwood of Independence in Independence, Missouri.  Mary had been a longtime resident of Liberty, Kansas until she moved to be closer to her daughter in Missouri.

 

 

 

Mary was born on January 29, 1932, in Licking, Missouri to Ervin Hebb and Retha (Scott) Hebb. She attended school in Licking and Monzanola, Colorado. She moved back to Licking area where she met William (Bill) Bogart, they were married Sept 16, 1950, in Salem, Arkansas.  The couple moved Coffeyville, Kansas in 1952, making their forever home in Liberty, Kansas.

 

 

 

Mary was a member of God’s Family Chapel in Independence, a dedicated wife, and a wonderful mother, and friend. She worked at Newberrys, Krogers and retired from ACC in Independence, Kansas.  In addition to her fulltime employment, she helped her husband with cattle, haying, driving a tractor or do what needed to be done.  Her kids rejoiced on the day’s that she would say:” let’s go fishing or on a drive, this housework will be there when you kids are gone”.

 

 

 

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Donna and Abe Ghazai of Lathrop, Missouri., daughter in law Peggy Bogart of Dewey, Okalhoma. Five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Bogart, son Allen Bogart, great grandson Tony Bogart, sister Ruthine Buckner, and both parents Ervin and Retha Hebb.

 

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., in Coffeyville, Kansas.  The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 5-7pm also at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Memorial Contributions can be made payable to:  Alzheimer’s Association in Mary’s Memory and left in care of the chapel.  Services will be streamed live under her obituary page at www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com where you may also leave an online condolence or share a memory with the family.
