Ruben L. Wren

Ruben L. Wren, 84, of Caney, Kansas passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at his home.

 

He was born on July 9, 1938, at Joplin, Missouri to Ruben and Beulah (Fleming) Wren.  Ruben grew up at attended school in Joplin.

 

Ruben was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he returned to the Joplin area.

 

On November 11, 1956, he married Patricia Martin at Miami, Oklahoma.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Joplin where Ruben worked in the Septic Tank Business. In June of 1975 they moved to Caney, Kansas where he started his own Septic Tank Business.

 

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Caney and served on the Caney City Council.  Ruben enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, going to the Casino and watching Nascar racing on TV, but his greatest joy was being surrounded by his family.

 

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; two sons, Ruben Wren and wife, Teresa of Caney, and Randy Wren and wife, Mary of Copan, Oklahoma; his daughter, Rhonda Peters and husband, Mark of Caney; three brothers, Jess Wren of Caney, Mike Wren and Kenny Wren both of Joplin, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, and three grandchildren.

 

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney with Pastor Josh Eaton of Crosspoint Church officiating.

 

Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.  The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
