Verna G. Hackleman, 90, of Coffeyville, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at her home following a long illness.

 

She was born May 10, 1932, in Oklahoma City, OK to John and Hattie Jones of Chelsea, OK. They moved to Coffeyville when she was young and she graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville.

 

On October 22, 1954 she married Othol Loy Hackleman at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in the Edna area until moving to Coffeyville in 1981. 

 

Verna was a Registered Nurse at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center and Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville for many years preferring to work in the Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units at both Hospitals until retiring in the early 2000's. 

 

She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, and loved to read, shop, and travel with her husband. 

 

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Karla Collins of the home; and Lana Randel of Emporia, KS: one son, Daryl Dean Hackleman of Norman, OK; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Hattie Jones; Her Husband Othol Hackleman; and Son John Lee Hackleman.

 

Following Verna's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9th, 2022 at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Coffeyville.
