Peggy Sue Jones, 74, of Edna, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, from injuries sustained in a car accident on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Peggy was born on August 1, 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the union of the late George Clarence and Peggy Janice (Roberts) Sheets. She graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1967 and in 1969 she graduated from CCJC. She went on to further her education and received her Bachelor of Science and Education in 1973 from Kanas State College of Pittsburg and graduated with her Master of Science in 1994 from Pittsburg State University. She loved being a teacher and helping others. She remained a teacher until her passing. On July 12, 1996 she was united in marriage to Leo Jones, together they shared twenty-two years until his passing on May 15, 2019.
Sue is survived by her children, Michael Felts and his wife, Patty, and Michelle Lockhart; grandchildren, Dawn Hough and her husband, Cody, Tommy Felts and his wife, Haylie, Chase Lockhart and Reyna Lockhart; three great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jones are 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at Hackney Cemetery, 9831 Osage Road, Carthage, Missouri.
