Glenn Lee Flanders

Glenn Lee Flanders (Flapp), age 68, of Dearing, Kansas passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas. 

Glenn was born on June 2, 1954, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Marvin and Myrtle (Miesner) Flanders.  He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended Edgewood Elementary school and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. 

On June 21, 1974, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Diana Chance in Coffeyville.  The couple made their home in rural Coffeyville, moving to Dearing, Kansas in 1977. They were members of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Coffeyville. 

Glenn was a hard worker; he drove a milk truck hauling milk from farms in Missouri and Arkansas to Page Milk Company in Coffeyville. He drove a concrete truck for the old Coffeyville Ready Mix plant, then drove a dump truck for Muller Construction for many years until he retired in January of 2021.  He collected Budweiser memorabilia, enjoyed the outdoors and most of all loved the time he spent with his family. 

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Diana Flanders of the home, son, Bradley Flanders and wife, Julissa of Kansas City, Kansas, daughter, Kimberly Cardwell and husband, Joshua of Dearing, Kansas, grandchildren, Noah and Nathaniel Flanders, Emily and Katlynn Cardwell, his mother, Myrtle Flanders of Coffeyville, Kansas, a brother, David Flanders and wife, Becky of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, along with many extended relatives and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Flanders and in 1977 a stillborn son, Jeromy Lee Flanders. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Coffeyville.  Pastor John Franson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at David W. Barnes Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The family will greet friends on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to David W. Barnes Funeral Home to help defray the cost of funeral expenses; these can be left with the funeral home or mailed to David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337 or payment can be made by phone.
