Robert H. Miner

Robert H. Miner age, 84 of Independence, Kansas passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Labette Medical Center in Independence.

Robert was born on April 29, 1938, to Alonzo Miner and Florence Grant in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  Robert was one of four children.  He grew up in the Dearing area attending Dearing grade school and coming into Coffeyville for his high school education, graduating from Field Kindley Memorial High School.  As an adult Robert continued his education by taking college classes.

Robert worked at Bartlett Flour Mill in his younger working days and then at Pallet Company where he retired from.

November 5, 1995, Robert married the love of his life, Phyllis Owens in Miami, Oklahoma.  Together they made their home in Independence, Kansas.  Robert loved his wife, as Christ loved the church, he would always encourage her and praised her, he treasured her more than rubies. Together they had a blended family five.

Robert was a giving man, he was quiet, meek, he never knew a stranger and so attentive to his family and friends.  He was such an encourager to all that he knew.  Robert loved sharing the Gospel and teaching others about the word of God. He not only read the Bible he lived the teachings.  He followed the words of Jesus and did just as he instructed in Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.  God gave Robert the gift of working with wood always making something, he truly was a jack of all trades and a master of none with amazing engineering skills.

Robert loved his wife, his children and oh the grandchildren, they were such a blessing to him. You would find him at the grandkids sporting events cheering them on even if he wasn’t familiar with all rules.

Robert grew up in a time that was hard, and life wasn’t always easy, and circumstances were not always favorable but his love for Jesus never wavered.  Making sure his family knew Jesus and the mansions He is preparing in Heaven was his most important priority. He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis of the home, sons, Johnnie Scott and his wife Diana, Robby Scott and his wife Jessica, daughter Cheryl Luna, grandchildren, Jonathan Powers and his wife Calla, Jake Power, Rebeccah Galindo, Sarah Luna-Moya, Jesus Luna-Moya, Justin and William Scott and two great grandchildren, son-in law, Ray Power.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his children, Belinda Power and son Terry Miner, his siblings, Gloria Nordeen McDaniel, Precilla Louise Betley and Milton Miner.
