Jess J. Miranda

Jess J. Miranda, age 80, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Windsor Place Nursing Home in Coffeyville. 

 

Jess was born on January 6, 1942, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Santos and Helen (Magana) Miranda.  He grew up in Coffeyville where he attended Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Field Kindley High School.  Jess furthered his education at Coffeyville Community College and at Pittsburg State University.  He proudly served his country in the Kansas Army National Guard.

 

In 1968 he was united in marriage to Linda Eisenhart in Pittsburg, Kansas.  Of that union a son, Christopher was born.  The couple later divorced. 

 

Jess worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas, Santa Fe Railroad and for American Insulated Wire.  He retired in 2015.  He was a lifelong member of Holy Name Catholic Church. 

 

Surviving to honor his memory are his son, Christopher Miranda, grandson, Diego Miranda, Kansas, siblings, Mary (Gary) VanderLinden of Coffeyville, Kansas, Frances Perez of Portland, Oregon, Anthony Miranda of LaPine, Oregon, Rita (Bob) Garber of Haltom City, Texas, Patricia Riley of Emporia Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews including Sue Relph, Andy Hobbs, Debra Hobbs and Gena Schockey all of Coffeyville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Ted Perez and Rod Riley. 

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at David W Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. 

 

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Holy Name Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Father James Schibi officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. 

 

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Holy Name Catholic School; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
