Robert “Buddy” E. Cain, or Bob as his work friends knew him., age 70, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Robert was born on November 20, 1951, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Cecil and Irene (Derringer) Cain. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas where he attended school and earned his high school diploma.
Robert proudly served his country for 35 years in the United States Army and the National Guard. He also worked for Spears Manufacturing for more than 30 years as a maintenance supervisor.
In 2004 he married Brenda Starnes; the couple made their home in Coffeyville. They enjoyed boating and camping at the lake with family and friends. He also enjoyed his job and his many friends in Florida.
Robert had a strong Christian faith. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and he adored his granddaughter, Alexis Cain.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda Cain of the home, sons, David Cain of Coffeyville, Kansas, Brad Cain and wife, Kelly of Greenwood Missouri, two grandkids, Breanna of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Lexi of St. Joseph, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Irene Cain and by a sister, Barbara Amann.
Following Robert's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas. No public services are scheduled at this time.
