Howard D. "Bud" Smith, age 84, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Medicalodges in Coffeyville. 

 

Bud was born on March 31, 1937 in Noxie, Oklahoma to Ralph annd Ella (Robinson) Smith.  He grew up and attended school in Lenapah, Oklahoma where he graduated high school. 

 

He was united in marriage to Kathrine Mae Bruce, the couple later divorced.  He later married Connie Harrington Allison and the couple later divorced. 

 

Bud worked more than 25 years at Morrow Foundry.  He was more commonly known for being the guy to go to for fixing your lawn mower down in the flats on the south side of Coffeyville.  He enjoyed fixing mowers and all the people he met through those encounters.  Bud also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and liked to raise rabbits.  Most of all he loved his family and the time he spent with them. 

 

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Diana, Howard Jr., Nancy, Anita, Robbie, Toby, Joe Smith and wife, Sheri, Larry Allison and wife, Tracy; and Jenny Hoggatt and husband Dale; six brothers, six sisters, numerous grandkids and great grandkids along with many other extended relatives and friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Tim and Bradley.

 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. 

 

Friends may sign the guest register on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. 

 

The family will be holding a Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ridin' For The Brand Church in Wann, Oklahoma.  Pastor Jimmy Harrington will officiate. 

 

The family suggests memorials in Bud’s memory to Joe or Jenny to help with expenses; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
