Ronald (Ron) Whayne Neidigh

Ronald (Ron) Whayne Neidigh, 71, of Edna, KS, peacefully passed away on January 12, 2022 at his home.


Born at CRMC to Dale and Ruby Neidigh, and raised on the family farm where he lived his entire life. Ron attended Trenton for elementary school then Edna High School until it closed its doors and finished his high school education at Labette County. Ron was a Coffeyville Community College and Pittsburg State University Alumni with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After he graduated, Ron spent most of his years in education as a substitute teacher for many of the area schools including Coffeyville, Labette County, Parsons, and Oswego. On April 7, 1986, Ron married his best friend, Ann Marie (Becker) Neidigh and went on to havethree children.


In his youth Ron was a volunteer firefighter for the Edna fire department, and for many years President of the Labette County Historical Society, served various offices in the Edna lion’s club, was an active member of the community, along with being a lifetime member of the masonic lodge. Ron was also a passionate genealogical researcher and local historian; he spent most of his retirement helping deliver meals on wheels, working on the family farm, enjoying spending time with friends, family and his many beloved cats, especially JiJi.


Ron leaves behind his wife Ann, children; Samuel Neidigh, Sydney Neidigh, Sara Neidigh-Gibson and her husband Matthew, and grandchild; Solomon Gibson.


No services will be held at this time and the family requests donations be made in lieu of flowers to help cover expenses. They may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
